I’m a new android user. I just rooted my phone using CF auto root. After that i tried to install CF 3D Pro driver, but my phone hang and i pulled the battery because it stated there to do so if the phone is hang or freeze aftter 2 mins. My phone hang ever since i pulled the battery. I’ve tried reset to factory setting and clear cache but the phone still hang.

    • Hi nars, please restore back to your previous CWM backup. Chainfire3D can’t work on Galaxy Note 2.

  • Genesis364

Great step by step guide with video 🙂 thanks!

Rooted and works, now i can play games with my ps3 controller, how cool this is?!
Yep, tested it last night and pad works also in menu/”desktop”

I wonder, if i want to “unroot” my note2, simply just search for original firmware xxx.tar.md5 and same steps?
First factory reset and after that put orig. firm with ODIN? Could that be so easy, maybe i need to try… little guide would be nice 😉

    //I´m a little stubborn (:

Elsewhere i read that updates via OTA is possible with “Voodoo OTA ROOTKeeper”, that temporarily unroot phone with just one click for updates…

    • Yes, factory reset first then install stock firmware back. Note – you might want to Triangle Away to clear the ‘warranty’ counter.

  • iAndroid

    What is thr warranty counter?

  • Chefy

    • Hi Chefy, can you install other apk? Or facing the same issue too?

  • Chefy

Hi J, other apk no issue except for apk that requires oot ie GL 2 SD. However i did a factory reset and all seems ok now. Have not try to install directorybind yet but did install GL 2 SD(root) from google play. no issue so far. Update you again. Ps……..i am a noob in tech.

  • BK TAN

    Hi jayce,

I have rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note II but found both USB and Wifi tethtering not function could it be the rooting problem or my Note II problem, by the way do you have this issue with your Note II . If its rooting problem how to do the recovery with original firmware ? And how to reset the factory reset counter ?

    • Root access does not have any effect on these.
Use Triangle Away to reset counter. Factory reset. Then install original firmware with Odin.

  • Andy

    Hi Jayce

thanks for the video instruction on youtube, i have a few questions that needs answer before i try rooting my Samsung galaxy note 2.

My samsung galaxy note 2 model is N7105, Android 4.1.1, baseband version :N7105XXALJ2 (is this what so called samsung stock ROM version?)
    Build number is : JRO03C.N7105XXALJ5
    Kernel: 3.0.31-383479

Do i just need Odin3 v1.85 (or version 3.04?? ) and CF-Auto-Root-t0lte-t0ltexx-gtn7105 to get the phone rooted?

Do i need to install cwm 6 recovery? where to get it for N7105?

    thank you so much Jayce,

    • Hi Andy, both Odin version should work just fine. Yes, that’s the one for N7105.

Install CWM or not is totally depend on your need. You can refer to the link in the guide to get it.

      • Andy

        Thank you Jayce.

      • Andy

        Hi Jayce

Can rooted samsung galaxy note 2 get a firmware updates automatically online? Like the upcoming jelly beans 4.1.2? How about other apps get updates too?

        • No with OTA, but you still update it with Samsung Kies.

          • Andy

So after update through kies my root will be gone and have to root it all over? Thanks

  • denzross

    Hi Jayce,

Just to double check, when i downloaded the cf-auto root from the link that you mentioned, it is a zip file. When i extracted the zip file it is a file.tar.md5

Base on the video tutorial that you posted, i should be selecting a .tar file.

Is the .tar.md5 file same with the .tar file in your video tutorial?

  • nikcavalera

    hi..about root use philtouch method

it can remove triangle or not for permanent?

    • Yes can remove. Permanent? No because it will increase counter when you load custom recovery.
