Package Content
Alloy Origins 60 comes well-protected. Once taken out the keyboard, there are detachable braided USB-C cable, keycap puller, additional keycaps for Esc & spacebar, support info card and multi-language quick start guide. That’s all.

Design & Build Quality
Yes, it has top notch build quality thanks to sturdy full aircraft-grade aluminum body housing. It does have some weight even compact in size. Petite 60% form factor is the smallest yet provides all functions. Yes, some keycaps are loaded with side-printed secondary functions. And all of them are PBT double shot. They are not as smooth as full size Alloy Origins. This gives you more grip in return. As usual, all the letters can be clearly seen even without LED backlit. No light indicator but the Caps Lock will have static colour when turned on. The same applies to Win lock.

There are 8 high quality anti-skid pads (including 4 on keyboard legs) at the bottom. Yes, you can adjust the two-step keyboard feet for three different angle settings (3°, 7°, or 11°). Just pick the one that makes your wrists the most comfortable. By the way, the anti-skid pads do provide strong grip and stability even small in size. You need to apply quite some force in order to move the keyboard.

Here is the USB-C port for keyboard’s data and power. Do check out the keyboard leg and super bright LED lights too. By the way, that’s the highest height setting at 11°.

Here is the 7° mode. And minimalistic compact design as you can see.

Software
You don’t need any software in order to use Alloy Origins 60. But you can do more with it. Yup, HyperX NGENUITY is a powerful and intuitive software that will allow you to personalize your compatible HyperX products including Origins 60. You can select the triggered LED light effects like flame, explosion and fade. And a lot more normal effects like breathing, confetti, solid and so on. Animation speed and brightness can be set too.

There is onboard memory for three profiles. Set button bindings, program and store macros, and customize lighting. Then select the profile that you want will do. That’s it. You can take Origins 60 with you on the go. And HyperX NGENUITY is no longer needed anymore.

Performance Result
HyperX Red mechanical switches are no stranger to me. Using it daily. And I love it! They are linear-style switches and don’t have “bump” that other switch types use to provide tactile feedback. So you can enjoy the edge in speed when double or triple-taps. In addition, it is quieter than tactile and clicky switches. Don’t forget the 80 million keystrokes lifespan that is great for hardcore gamers like you and me. For comparison, they feel and act almost the same as Cherry MX Red Switches. Same operating force at 45g. HyperX Red has slightly shorter actuation point at 1.8mm and 3.8mm total travel distance. 0.2mm shorter than Cherry MX Red.

100% anti-ghosting, and N-key rollover are supported by Alloy Origins 60. Every single key that is pressed on the keyboard will be registered correctly. Yes, you can press all of them at once. In addition, there is Game Mode where Windows key is disabled to avoid accidental interruption during gaming too. You can also disable combo keys like Alt + Tab, Alt + F4, Shift + Tab and Ctrl + Esc. All of them are must have features for gamers.

You still can enjoy a lot of function keys even with petite 60% form factor. As you can see, all the secondary functions are printed at side of the keycaps. You can access them by using the FN key easily. In return, you have a lot more room for your mouse.

Or course, you can’t miss out the lovely and attractive LED light effects. Super bright and colourful thanks to exposed LED design. Up to 4 brightness levels can be controlled through keyboard directly. And 0% to 100% with 1% incremental in HyperX NGENUITY. They are bright enough to use during the day. Outstanding in low light environment. See them yourself. Gaming will never be the same again…

Yes, both Esc and spacebar were changed to alternate keycaps. Lovely, right?
