Dell UltraSharp U2410 Monitor Unpacking

I always want a better viewing angle LCD monitor like Dell UltraSharp 2408 WFP with pilot function. However, the VA (Vertical Alignment) panel which have very high input lag is not suitable for gaming (FPS) that I spend most of the time with my computer beside blogging. The wait is over, Dell comes out a new monitor that suite my need ~ Dell UltraSharp U2410 Monitor at a very attractive price (RM1599 @ US$450). Dell UltraSharp U2410 uses IPS (In Plane Switching) panel (not sure is H-IPS or not) and it should be faster than VA panel. Okay, let’s unpack it.

SpeedFan is a freeware program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in your computer. It is a great tool for overclocker like me. You can monitor your CPU cores temperature and CPU fan speed too. Its main features are monitor fan speed. However, it does not end here. It has other useful features like access S.M.A.R.T. info on hard disk, change the FSB on some hardware and control fan speed. It can be used on Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP and Windows Vista. It works with Windows 64 bit too.

LCD monitor… Which LCD monitor should I choose? By the way, I am using Samsung 2253BW 22″ LCD monitor at office. I don’t face any problem with it on daily office works. However, does is perform well in games? Movie? I did not try that in the office. đŸ˜› There is another new LCD monitor from Samsung. It is Samsung T220 LCD monitor. Its outlook is better and Contrast Ratio is higher – 20,000 compare to 2253BW – 8,000. Of course, the price is higher too. As for the other specifications, they are almost the same.
