There is only a very simple quick start guide bundled along with Xiaomi Redmi 1S. No user manual can be found on the Mi Malaysia website too. Same apply to official Xiaomi China website. No worry, there is a pre-installed user guide in the smartphone. Mine was deleted and cannot be recovered due to a bug (will cover this in the future) in latest Malaysia ROM v36. Seem like the user guide is not in the ROM at all. Anyway, you can find lot of guides in MIUI Forum.
I am using PhilZ CWM Touch for quite some time on my Samsung Galaxy devices. I love it. And why not try it on Xiaomi Redmi 1S, right? Yes, you can do so also. By the way, PhilZ Touch is an advanced version of CWM and has lot of nice features. You can use it to install custom ROM, make a full system backup (and restore it) and lot more. However, good stuff does not last long. Yup, Phil is not going to update and support this CWM anymore. But you still can try it anyway…
Have an update zip file that you want to install on Xiaomi Redmi 1S? Yes, you can do so very easy on Redmi 1S. Basically, just copy the update zip to your phone. Then use Updater application to install. That’s it. Very simple, right? However, not all the enhancement or modification update zip is user friendly. Some might cause error to your Redmi 1S. Therefore, make sure that you use CWM or TWRP to make a full system backup first before trying them.

Xiaomi has done it again. Yes, Xiaomi iPhone 5s Mi 4 is coming. In short, it is like enhanced iPhone 5s with Android loaded. No plastic but with stainless steel frame (Samsung, see that?). The advantages compare to Galaxy S5? It has 3GB of RAM, 8MP front camera and 64GB model. The most important part ~ a lot cheaper. Priced at RMB 1999 (Approx. RM1099) for 16GB and RMB 2499 (Approx. RM1299) for 64GB. The downsides… Just like iPhone = non-removable battery and no external SD card support. And 64GB model might not even come to Malaysia (just like Mi 3). 16GB is not enough nowadays.
