Introduction
Hey guys, meet the refresh of Kingston Canvas Plus Series. They have 3 categories to cover all your needs – Ultimate (Canvas React Plus), Performance (Canvas Go! Plus) and Mainstream (Canvas Select Plus) which is the one I have here. It is designed for recreational/amateur Full HD and 4K DSLR cameras. Loaded with UHS-I performance speed up to 100MB/s read and 85MB/s write. Alright, let’s have a closer look now…

Special Thanks
This review is possible thanks to below companies. Be sure to check them out…

  • Kingston for this 512GB Kingston Canvas Select Plus SD Card

Package Content & Design
Standard packaging for a SD card. Comes with a lot of capacities for you and me – 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Just pick the one that suits your needs. And the best news – it is loaded with a lifetime warranty.

Performance Result
Canvas Select Plus is the slowest model among all. And cheapest among all too. If you need higher speed, do check out other models. For example, Kingston top-of-the-line Canvas React Plus has 300MB/s read and 260MB/s write. Canvas Go! Plus can reach up to 170MB/s read and 90MB/s write. It is having almost double reading speed when compared to Canvas Select Plus. Therefore, just pick the model that suits your tasks.

Alright, here are some of the benchmark results with Kingston MobileLite Plus SD Reader…

I am getting sequential reading speed at 98 MB/s and writing at 78 MB/s in CrystalDiskMark. And it is also fulfilling A1 App Performance standard for Android devices. Great for Android TV boxes that support adaptive storage expansion through SD slot.

ATTO results are slower a bit when compared to CrystalDiskMark.

ATTO Disk Benchmark has sequential reading speed at 94 MB/s and writing at 80 MB/s.

Constant writing speed on Canvas Select Plus card as you can see. Rest assures that ultra high definition 4K video can be recorded smoothly on your video SLR camera. Never miss out and skip any frame for sure.

For real world test, Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is being used. Even though Canvas Select Plus is meant for casual consumers, it is working well on BMPCC 4K too. Of course, it can’t perform at maximum settings. It does manage to capture Ultra HD 3840×2160 video in both Blackmagic RAW 12:1 and ProRes PXY standards though. Up to 123 minutes with 500GB storage as you can see.
