FRAPS is a real-time video capture and benchmarking tool. I started using it since version 1. FRAPS latest version 2.9.8 now. It is a great tool to benchmark 3D games performance when the 3D games did not support benchmarking function. Besides benchmarking, FRAPS supports other nice features like screen capture and realtime video capture. The realtime video capture quality is nice. It is identical as the way you play in the games. Check out these videos at FRAPS website.
I like the benchmarking function. Besides showing Frames Per Second (FPS) on the corner of your screen. It can output benchmark statistics to files too. It is useful for own review of the games and 3D display card.
FRAPS stays at my system all the time. How about you?
Too bad the free downloaded version only enables one to save streaming video for 30 seconds. Are there any free software out there where we can save the streaming video for any length of time?
Registered version of Fraps is not hard to get from internet.
@flowerhorn: Just try google it for registered version. You should be able to find it. 😉
