How to create EXT3 partition on SD card with ClockworkMod Recovery? (Video)

Most of the NAND Android ROMs for HTC HD2 support A2SD+ feature. A2SD+ helps to store applications and data at EXT3 partition on SD card. This is very useful for HTC HD2 which has only 512 MB of ROM. You will easily face out of internal disk storage issue if you don’t use A2SD+ supported Android ROM. EXT3 partition on SD card should solve low internal disk space issue.

Prerequisites

  • ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3

You can use any method that you know to create EXT3 partition on SD card like using GParted Live. However, create EXT3 partition with ClockworkMod Recovery is easier. Follow this guide to install if you don’ have CWM yet – How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 on HTC HD2? (Video).

Note – CWM will format and delete everything on your SD card when creating EXT3 partition. Remember to do a backup of your SD card first.

2-way in call recording is always one of the features that I want to have on my phone. And you can enable call recording on Samsung Galaxy S II now too. Actually, you can try several call recorders from Android Market. Or apply this Samsung Galaxy S2 dialer mod to enable call recording. And the good news, it works on official firmware no matter odexed or deodexed. I tried it on XXKG5 official firmware (odexed). Turn out working fine. Hmm… Maybe sound recorded is a little bit soft, but I still can hear it. If you don’t like it, you can revert back to stock dialer anytime you want.

How to fix ShadowGun force close issue on non Tegra 2 Android phone? Yup, if you are using non Tegra 2 Android phone and manage to play ShadowGun with Chainfire3D. That might be your question. It was mine. Err… I was facing ShadowGun force close issue on Samsung Galaxy S II when trying to loading another level after finished level 1. And has graphics glitch issue sometimes too (but very rare). Finally, I found a solution to fix ShadowGun force close issue on Samsung Galaxy S2.

How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 on HTC HD2? (Video)

ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) for HTC HD2 is a must installed tool as most of the NAND Android ROMs are in CWM zip format. You need to use ClockworkMod Recovery to install these zip ROMs from SD card. Besides, ClockworkMod Recovery can make full system backup and restore using Nandroid. ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 will be installed into NAND memory, therefore MAGLDR v1.13 is needed. Please follow step by step video guide to install it.

There are 3 partition layout sizes for ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 ~ 150MB, 250MB and 400MB. Which partition layout size of ClockworkMod Recovery should I use? Depending on what type of ROM that you plan to use, you should choose the partition size based on the following.

  • 150MB Partition – For bare ROM including CyanogenMod, AOSP, and MIUI
  • 250MB Partition – For Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Standard Sense ROM including Desire and EVO based ROM, can also be used for some squashed HD builds
  • 400MB Partition – For Larger ROM including unsquashed Desire HD and Z ROM

  • DFT MAGLDR Bootloader v1.13

Note
– For Windows XP users, follow this guide to fix USB init failed ~ Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723) issue.
– ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 only work on MAGLDR v1.13 and not older version.

I still don’t have Windows Phone 7 activation code from Microsoft until now (failed to get it when WP7 launched on HTC HD2, and don’t bother to get it now too). Therefore, I cannot access to Windows Marketplace officially. However, that does not stop me from testing WP7 applications because I can unlock / jailbreak WP7 and sideload apps into it. I tested on Windows Phone 7.5 build 7720 XBmod-Yuki ROM and manage to install custom applications with Multiple Xap Installer and Tom XAP Installer. Not sure this will work on other native WP7 phones or not. Try it out if you want…
